About Gwendolyn
Meet Gwendolyn Schmidt
Hey! I'm Gwendolyn Schmidt, a passionate graphic designer dedicated to bringing ideas to life through creative visuals and human-centered design.
When I'm not creating fun graphics, I'm exploring with my dog. Everytime I'm out with my dog, I'm meeting new people or having new experinces. Through our adventures, I have developed a deeper appreciation for nature.

Professional Journey
2023 - Present
Freelance Graphic Designer
As a freelance designer, I have collaborated with various clients, crafting tailored design solutions that meet their specific needs. Most of my clients are local, small businesses, and not-for-profits.
2018 - 2017
Label Production Specialist at Uber ATG
Ready to build new skills and work in larger teams, I began working in machine learning technologies in the automotive world. Here I was able to hone in my eye for detail, develop new communication skills, and create fun internal deisgns for various learning teams and management systems.
2021 - 2023
Graphic Designer at AMPP
This company was born of a merger with my previous employer, and allowed me to continue utilising my design skills while also getting the opportinity to develop an identity for a new conference, as well as building a new internal brand, and work in a more traditional creative support team.
I also carried on my pervious work with the Department of Defense's Corrosion Conference for their
bi-annual conference.
2017
Production Manager & Designer
Working for a small business/one person operation was a great opportunity comming out of school to use all of the skills I have been developing, and build new skills and confidence at the same time. Plus working with CnC routers and acrylic pieces to create license car decals and dress kits was really cool!
2013 - 2017
Studying Graphic Design at La Roche
I began my professional training at La Roche Univeristy in Pittsburgh, Pa. I greatly enjoyed the experinces that I was able to partake in due to my educational experinces, and the young designer that was emerging. Here, I really fell in love with cultural immersion and world travel. I even did my study abroad in Peru!
2018 - 2021
Graphic Designer at SSPC
Ready for more invoved design efforts, I moved along to the not-for-profit world. Here, I learned so much about working for educational and scientific sectors, and in a really small creative team.
I also fell in love with working on larger, full scale projects in the expo world. I began working on two conferences - one internal through the my employer, and the other contracted to my employer from the Depertment of Defense. I loved creating print and social ads, support materials, forms, web pages, apps, powerpoint templates, and so much more!
2016 - 2017
Internship
Created strong marketing deliverables to showcase the
co-op and the benefits to membership. Gathered logos of companies associated with the
co-op, transfer logos into unified, vector images. Translate logos into brick and mortar building that showcases the services Workhard Pittsburgh has to offer.
